Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Wordle Unlimited

Is Wordle Unlimited free to play?

Yes, Wordle Unlimited is completely free. There are no subscriptions, no ads, and no need to register or create an account. Just visit the site and start playing instantly.

How many games can I play per day?

Unlimited! Unlike the official NYT Wordle that limits you to one puzzle per day, our version lets you play as many rounds as you want. Each new game gives you a fresh random 5-letter word.

What's the difference between Unlimited and Daily mode?

Unlimited mode gives you a random word each time you start a new game — perfect for practice. Daily mode uses a fixed word that's the same for all players worldwide, resetting every day at midnight.

What are the best starting words for Wordle?

Top starting words include CRANE, RAISE, SLATE, and AUDIO. These words cover the most common letters in English 5-letter words, giving you maximum information from your first guess. Check our blog for a full analysis!

Can I play on mobile?

Absolutely! Wordle Unlimited is fully responsive and works great on smartphones and tablets. You can use the on-screen keyboard or your device's keyboard.

How does the color system work?

Green means the letter is correct and in the right position. Yellow means the letter is in the word but in the wrong position. Gray means the letter is not in the word at all.

Does it save my statistics?

Yes! Your stats (games played, win rate, current streak, max streak, and guess distribution) are saved locally in your browser. Note: clearing your browser data will reset your stats.

Can I share my results?

Yes! After completing a game, click the "Share" button in the results screen. It copies a spoiler-free emoji grid to your clipboard that you can paste anywhere.

Are all words in the game common English words?

We curate our word list to include only common, recognizable English words. We avoid proper nouns, obscure terms, and offensive words to keep the game fair and enjoyable.

Is this affiliated with the New York Times Wordle?

No. Wordle Unlimited is an independent fan-made project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to The New York Times Company or the original Wordle creator Josh Wardle.

What browsers are supported?

Wordle Unlimited works on all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge on both desktop and mobile devices.

Is there a hard mode?

We're working on adding hard mode! In hard mode, any revealed hints must be used in subsequent guesses, making the game more challenging.
